NoMan Hat Co. was founded by Raymond Metzger and Philip McNair after the two had a vision of expressing their creativity and love of art in the form of hat making. Before launching the company in October 2019, Phil and Ray took sewing classes and then trained under a highly-skilled milliner to fully develop their craft.
Outside of NoMan, Phil and Ray are close friends and Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Ray is a Physical Therapist and 2x alumni of Howard University. Phil is a Systems Engineer, U.S. Navy veteran and alumni of The George Washington University.
